UPDATE: CRICKET: Central Downs was making a bold chase of the Warwick score of 124 just before lunch in the Mitchell Shield game at Slade Park.
Michael Bourke, who top scored with 42, and Andrew McConnell added 22 for the 10th wicket to give the Warwick team an outside chance of victory.
It didn’t take long for Warwick’s hopes to be dashed with Central Downs 0-65 off six overs. They had 60 runs to score with 10 wickets in hand and 42 overs left to record a win
EARLIER: Warwick will need one of its best bowling performances in many years to beat Central Downs in the Mitchell Shield game at Slade Park.
Batting first, Warwick was 7-63 after 17 overs with Michael Bourke 15 not out. Lachlan Gross was the best of the top order with 16.
Brenden Schick was the best of the bowling early with 2-12 off four overs.
Bourke led a Warwick fightback and the score was 9-102 just over halfway through the innings. Andrew McConnell was the other not out batsman.
