Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly desperately trying to convince Manchester United’s board to sign a certain Portuguese star.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, the Norwegian boss has urged vice-chairman Ed Woodward to sign Sporting Lisbon talisman Bruno Fernandes.
United appear to be heavily interested in the midfielder, who is also being chased by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
This past season was a great one for the 24-year-old, whose 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches for Sporting saw him attract suitors from across the European continent.
It has been claimed the Portuguese club values the player at about £62 million (R1.1 billion), but it is believed that Woodward is trying to get that figure reduced.
With Ander Herrera having left and Paul Pogba’s future uncertain, Solskjaer apparently sees Fernandes as an ideal addition to their midfield.
