DeMarco faces decision to leave or return to Vanderbilt

DeMarco is a sophomore but eligible for the draft as a 21-year-old. Like all underclassmen, he has the option to sign a minor-league contract or return to Vanderbilt next season. This season DeMarco has a .298 batting average, five home runs, 43 RBIs and 41 runs scored in 44 games after recovering from an injury early in the season.

Gobillot, a left-handed sophomore, is also draft eligible as a 21-year-old. He pitched only two innings this season.

King, Gillis tout talent, upside

King is a versatile left-hander with a lot of upside. He has been a long reliever, closer and even a starter in a pinch for the Commodores. King has a 6.31 ERA in 19 appearances this season. He has a fastball in the mid-90s and a nasty slider.

Gillis, a left-hander, has a 5.14 ERA in seven relief appearances this season. He has a fastball in the mid-90s and a solid curveball. Franklin, a left-hander, has a 7.24 ERA in 13 appearances this season, shining most in a key late-season victory at Louisville.

Five Vanderbilt players were selected on the first two days of the draft, including outfielder J.J. Bleday (fourth pick, first round, Marlins), pitcher Drake Fellows (173rd pick, sixth round, Padres), catcher Philip Clarke (267th pick, ninth round, Blue Jays), shortstop Ethan Paul (274th pick, ninth round, Pirates) and outfielder Stephen Scott (317th pick, 10th round, Red Sox).
