Wales under-20s’ fifth place semi-final against New Zealand at the World Rugby u20s Championship was suspended for an hour during the first half.
With 28 minutes on the clock, referee Christopher Ridley took the players off the field as thunderstorms moved into the area.
Had the game been abandoned, Wales would have gone through to the fifth place play-off final, having scored the games only try and holding a 5-0 lead.
However, after an hour delay, the storm had passed and the teams came back out to continue the match.
